Product Description

Our Premium A2 Cow Ghee is a testament to India's ancient dairy wisdom, crafted exclusively from the milk of indigenous A2 cows, commonly  known as Sahiwal cows - using the traditional Bilona churning method.

This time-honored process, passed down through generations, ensures that every jar retains the natural nutrients, authentic flavor, and therapeutic properties that make A2 ghee a superfood for modern families.

Rich in A2 beta-casein protein, our ghee is easier to digest compared to regular dairy products, making it perfect for children, pregnant women, and elderly family members.

The slow churning process preserves essential vitamins A, D, E, and K, along with beneficial fatty acids that support brain development, boost immunity, and promote overall wellness.

Each batch undergoes 23 rigorous quality checks in certified laboratories, ensuring zero adulteration and maximum nutritional value. From our ethical partner farms to your kitchen, we maintain the highest standards of purity and freshness.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything to Know About Our Premium A2 Ghee

How is A2 ghee different from regular ghee in terms of health benefits?

A2 ghee contains only A2 beta-casein protein which is easier to digest and doesn't cause inflammation like A1 protein. It's particularly beneficial for children, pregnant women, and people with digestive sensitivities. Our traditional Bilona method also preserves more nutrients compared to machine-processed ghee.

Why do you use only Sahiwal cows for A2 ghee production?

The A2 ghee is derived from Sahiwal cows which originate from the Sahiwal district of Punjab but now have spread across large parts of the Indian subcontinent across India and Pakistan and have also been exported to foreign lands like Africa and Australia. Known for their signature hump-like structure present on their backs, it is believed that the hump of the Sahiwal not only acts as energy reserves, but also allows for heat regulation and thermo-dissipation. This makes the Zebuine cattle (the Sahiwal’s family) provide better milk and fat yield with a characteristic protein - the A2 beta casein protein - absent in other cattle. Some also believe that the Sahiwal’s hump allows it to attune to the UV radiation and that helps in the signature protein synthesis - but there is no scientific evidence to this yet.

However, it is true that the Sahiwal cow is a high-maintenance breed which requires heavy amounts of food and water and also a highly regulated environment for their growth. Hence, at Moovana, we only use very high-maintenance, technologically-enhanced Gaushalas to house and grow them in absolutely cruelty free conditions.

Our happy,grass-fed Sahiwal cows are notable because they come with a host of advantages which are absent in other cattle breeds -

  • High milk yields
  • Tick and parasite resistance
  • Heat tolerant
  • Ease of calving
  • Longevity, reproducing for upto 20yrs
  • Drought resistant
  • Bloat tolerant
  • Good temperament
  • Lean meat with even fat cover.

Can I give this ghee to my 8-month-old baby?

Yes, absolutely! Our A2 ghee is perfect for babies from 6 months onwards. Start with 1/4 teaspoon mixed in baby food. The A2 protein supports brain development and is easier for babies to digest. Many pediatricians recommend our ghee for healthy weight gain in infants.

Why is your ghee more expensive than supermarket brands?

Our ghee costs more because we use authentic A2 cow milk, traditional Bilona churning (which takes 6-8 hours vs 30 minutes for machine processing), and conduct 23 quality tests per batch. You're paying for purity, nutrition, and traditional methods - not mass production shortcuts.

How long does one jar last and what's the shelf life?

A 1L jar typically lasts a family of 4 about 3-4 weeks with regular use. Unopened jars have 18 months shelf life, and once opened, they stay fresh for 12 months when stored properly. No refrigeration needed due to ghee's natural preservation properties.

Is your ghee suitable for people with lactose intolerance?

Yes! During the traditional churning process, milk proteins and lactose are removed, leaving pure fat. Most lactose-intolerant people can consume our ghee without issues. However, we recommend starting with small amounts and consulting your doctor if you have severe dairy allergies.
